Are you truly meditating on the Word of God day and night, as Psalm 1:2 commands? I mean really diving deep, letting His Word saturate every part of your life? We all get caught up with work, chores, and endless distractions—but Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). That’s every word, every moment.
Let’s be honest: how often are we consuming worldly entertainment instead of feeding our spirits? Are we watching shows that blaspheme God, listening to music that glorifies the world, all while letting our Bibles collect dust? Jesus didn’t call us to live halfway for Him. The apostles didn’t perform miracles by taking breaks to watch the latest trends or indulge in distractions—they were consumed with the work of the Lord!
The Bible says in Joshua 1:8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." Did you catch that? Day and night! We’re called to be constantly filling our hearts with the Word, not just fitting it into our spare moments.
Maybe it’s time to reassess your priorities. Are you letting sports, video games, and endless social media steal your focus from Jesus? Hebrews 12:1 urges us to “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.” The world pulls us away with its noise, but Jesus is calling you to rest in Him, not apart from Him. “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
It’s not just about reading the Word—it’s about living it. When you clean the house, listen to Scripture. When you drive, let His Word pour over you. As you sleep, let the Word be the last thing you hear. The Bible says in Romans 10:17, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Fill your life with it!
This is a call to radical commitment, to live a fanatical life for Jesus. Will you let distractions keep you from eternal life, or will you choose to focus on what truly matters? The time is now. Make His Word your obsession, your daily bread, and watch as you bear fruit in season (Psalm 1:3).
The choice is clear. Heaven or hell. Get in the Word—now.
